Reflecting Pool

With this elegant reflecting pool in place, you can relax and decompress a bit, take in what you've seen in the first room, and look ahead to the vistas of the third room. It's built on the site of an older swimming pool from 1947 (constructed by the Devereux family) that fell into disrepair. The land in this room is gently sloped, emphasizing the natural route of water drainage towards the Sound. (The Jay Mansion itself was built on a knoll to encourage that drainage). Also, note the restored bluestone path that surrounds the pool. The stones were harvested from an original path and reused for this project.

This was what the old pool looked like. What a difference!
