Princeton Tiger Site

Before the Tiger found a new home in the Jadwin Gymnasium of Princeton University in the 1980s, while the Jay grounds were under the threat of development, a Charles Russell Knight-designed sculpture watched over these gardens. This is not a Jay-commissioned sculpture (the Jays largely went to Columbia) -- it was put in place during the Palmer era because Edgar graduated from Princeton University in the class of 1903 and donated much to his alma mater afterward. The hope is that we can commission a replica of this tiger to watch over the gardens once more and or use the base as a spot for rotating sculptures by contemporary artists!
