Seth Thomas Clock Tower

The clock tower, the defining feature of the Van Norden Carriage House, is an original Seth Thomas design (he was the clockmaker who also designed the iconic clock in Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal). His company dates back to 1813, and there are currently less than 80 of his clocks in existence today. It is four-faced, perched atop a restored seamed roof, works via a series of intricate gears and pulleys, and continues to operate reliably -- as it has for the last century or so.
